My Game Idea

Me and my partner are going to make this for middle schoolers. Most likely from age 10 to 12. They should have good ability to time jumps. It will help them learn math while they learn laws of gravity. They will also get to learn how to deal with pressure from the time limit. It will be a made up world so we can incorperate many different objects at once like a river beside a lava pit or anything else we would add like a long bridge. Obsticles make it more interesting to play. It affects timing and gravity to make the appropiate jumps to cross the obsticles. Every day in school kids have to take quizes and tests. When you play games you are suppose to enjoy your learning experience not dread it like you would a test.

My Personal Time Gaming

I dont usualy watch T.V. so i will either play random games online or play sports. I like to play first player shooting games such as Modern Warefare or Call of Duty. I also play RPG games like Oblivion and others. With the software we learned I beleive i can make a very crude game but its a start.

Teams

When we go teams for our game building im hoping for a strategy game still. Im not sure if we have the software and the knowledge to build a game with alot of moving parts. I also have to take into consideration what the other members of my team want to create. Its going to be an interesting indever.

The Mini-Game Road Bumps

I got the carrot to move with ease and the rabbit as well. In fact I learned how to increase both the rabbit and the carrots speed relitively easy. The contact code that when the rabbit touched the carrot the carrot restarted was also easy but the big problem was the score keeping. Everyone had problems with it in my class the instructions were lacking there. That was my biggest hurdle but I know others had more frustrating problems.

Mini-gaming

I like how they help you create your first minigame by giving you a sort of start up packet. I have so far the bunny and the carrot both moving fairly well but my carrot is moving about 150 frames per second. The code is difficult but once you get good at it it gets fun. I hope to have my own minigame running soon.
